Giving

The life of our parish, the care of our buildings, the outreach to our communities, and the full-time work of ministers and lay workers, is supported and sustained by the gifts of our congregations. We are so grateful to all those who month by month give generously to the work of the parish.

For us, giving is an act of worship and part of the challenging lifestyle of following Jesus. So we encourage all who are part of our churches to give something, however small.

If you would like to support the parish financially (and ensure the parish benefits from Gift Aid), please find details below of the best ways to do so.

Regular Giving

Most members of our congregation give to the parish using the Parish Giving Scheme direct from their bank accounts. To set this up simply click the button below and follow the steps indicated on the webpage.

Alternatively you can set up a regular gift by calling the PGS dedicated telephone line: 0333 002 1271.
You will need to have the following information to hand:
– Your personal bank account details
– The name of our parish: North Stoneham and Bassett
– The PGS code for our Parish: 416013161

PGS allows you to confirm whether you are eligible for Gift Aid, and also if you wish to increase your gift in line with inflation each year or not.

One-off Gifts

To make a single one-off donation (including gift aid), please use the Stewardship Services at www.give.net/NSAB where you can make a donation using your debit or credit card. (If you already give regularly with using the Parish Giving Scheme above, you can also use PGS for one-off gifts.)

Give as You Live

You can also raise funds for the Parish as you do your normal shopping using Give as You Live. To find out more and set up an account go to www.giveasyoulive.com.

You will need the following details:
– Charity: PCC of North Stoneham and Bassett
– Charity Number: 1175931

Legacies

Another important way people can contribute to the parish is through gifts in their wills. In the past, legacies have enabled the parish to take on major improvement and development projects that could not have been financed through regular annual giving. Legacy gifts will continue to make a real difference for future generations of church-goers, and we are immensely grateful to those who continue to support us in this way.

Charitable gifts in wills  are exempt from Inheritance Tax, and if more than 10% of a taxable estate is donated to charity, this can reduce the Inheritance Tax rate on the overall estate. For more information about “How Inheritance Tax Works” view the government webpage by clicking on the button below.

To make a gift in your will, we recommend you contact a solicitor to make or modify your will, and to obtain appropriate tax advice.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK tax payer, you can increase the value of your gift through Gift Aid. The on-line services above provide mechnisms for automatically claiming this back (if applicable). However, if you want to make a gift directly to the Parish, a manual form is needed to claim the Gift Aid, so please download click on the button below, and fill out the NSAB Gift Aid Declaration and send it to the parish office.

For general information about Gift Aid, please see the UK Government site: https://www.gov.uk/donating-to-charity/gift-aid
