Come-and Sing Evensong

On Sunday, 25th October, there’s a great opportunity to sing evensong in the lovely setting of St Michael and All Angels, Bassett Avenue—just a stone’s throw from the university’s Glen Eyre Halls. Practise in the afternoon, sing some beautiful music’ including Evening Hymn, an anthem by H. Balfour Gardiner, and round off the evening with a delicious hot meal in the hall next door! The event is free.

  • Arrive from 3.15pm
  • 3.30pm Practice
  • 4.40pm Tea break (20 minutes)
  • 5.00pm Practice
  • 6.00pm Break
  • 6.30pm Service 
  • 7.15pm (approx) Hot meal and refreshments in the Parish Hall.

What do you need?
Some basic singing and music reading skills are needed, but previous choral experience or fluent sight-reading isn’t required. Just come along and you’ll find plenty of choir members willing and able to help! You don’t need robes, even though St Michael’s is a robed but choir, you can wear anything dark and smart!
