Aoife and Duncan

Aoife Scully is a flautist and piccolo player from Southampton. She has played in Constella Philharmonic, Magna Sinfonia and Southampton Concert Orchestra, the charity symphony marathons, Royal Welsh Symphony Orchestra and as principal flute in RWCMD’s “Die Fledermaus”. Aoife studied at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, gaining a Masters in Music Performance, with Jonathan Burgess, John Hall, Lindsey Ellis and Robert Winn. During her undergraduate degree at Southampton University, Aoife was awarded the Peter Evans Prize for Outstanding Performance.
She has just come back from the international Flute Seminar in Bruges where she was one of six attending a specialist piccolo summer school with Peter Verhoyen. She is currently teaching flute and violin, playing flute in local orchestras, violin in the folk band Puddleglum, and Chinese flute in a duo with her friend and erhu player, Bethany. Duncan Honeybourne enjoys a diverse profile as a pianist and in music education.
Following his concerto debuts at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, and the National Concert
Hall, Dublin, he made recital debuts in London, Paris, and at international festivals in
Belgium and Switzerland. Commended by International Piano magazine for his
“glittering performances”, Duncan has toured extensively as soloist and chamber
musician, broadcasting frequently on BBC Radio 3 and radio networks worldwide. His
many recordings reflect his long association with 20th and 21st century British piano
music. He is a Tutor in Piano at the University of Southampton.
